Everyone knows that our skin is the largest organ in our bodies. But did you know that our skin is like a sponge and absorbs anything it comes in contact with? I had never really thought about it before. Until now! Just think about the nicotine patches and the birth control patches. How do they get to where they need to go? Right! Through our skin.

If you have seen my blogs before, you know that I we have been using Melaleuca products for almost 7 years. I have found a lot of people do, but I am NOT one of them.

I REALLY dislike shopping A LOT…and if there is an easier way to shop…I’m on it like a hound dog huntin’ Raccoon. I love shopping online, I wish I could do all my grocery shopping online, but I still have to do some of it in the store…maybe one day!

I feel terrible that I hadn’t shared this with you sooner.

A good friend of mine sent this link to me this week. And I wanted to share it with you. We have been using Melaleuca products for seven years now and had forgotten why we started using them in the first place…we have always enjoyed using them…but had forgotten all the benefits of them.

Protect your family!

Did you know that more than 150 chemicals commonly found in household products such as, Tide and Cascade to Clorox and 409, which contain toxins harmful to the human body and mind, have been linked to human ailments from allergies and skin cancer to psychological abnormalities and learning disabilities? We are well aware of air pollution and the prevalence of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, but how many of us are really aware of indoor air pollution in our homes?

We all need to be aware of such danger, but especially families with young children. Children crawl or walk at ground level where heavier pollutants settle, and they are always curious and investigating places where they shouldn’t be: in the kitchen, the bathroom, and the laundry room. They are exposed to out gassing from, or direct contact with, bleach, dishwashing and laundry detergent, window cleaner, shampoo, mouthwash, and the like, that may contain toxins that can seriously injure them. The effects may be difficult to detect because exposure generally occurs over a prolonged period of time.

Mothers are also at risk. One study has concluded that women working at home have a 54% higher death rate than women with jobs away from home. Why would you allow toxins in your home that have proven to be detrimental to the long-term health of you and your family?

Children are especially vulnerable to toxic vapors because of their high metabolic rate; they need more oxygen and breathe in two to three times more air (and therefore toxins) relative to body size than adults. Closed homes are particularly dangerous – windows are closed in winter to conserve heat and remain closed in summer to hold in air-conditioned air. Toxic fumes have nowhere to go and build up increasing levels in the home.
